DJ, Producer, Event Curator, Community Partner, & Businessman, Chimel Idiokitas, also known as ReaL P, tells stories through music and social creativity. Raised in Roxbury Massachusetts to parents of Nigerian and Liberian descent, ReaL P developed his love for music and community under the wings of his "vinyl junkie" father and his five older brothers, who were Hip-Hop enthusiasts.

 

Beginning his DJ journey at the age of fifteen, ReaL P quickly established himself as a musical risk-taker, and consistent culture creator in the New England nightlife, music, and entertainment scenes. In 2018, he was selected as a Neighborhood Salon Luminary at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, where he was tasked with, alongside other creatives, helping the Gardner make better informed programming decisions to better engage the rapidly evolving population in Boston.

 

Winner of the 2019 Boston Music Awards DJ of Year, creator of SILK, and 2022 Embrace Boston Artist in Residence, he has produced countless social events, parties, and concerts, in some of New England’s premier venues. With a particular focus on partnership, collaboration, and brand recognition, ReaL P continues to create safe spaces for people of all backgrounds and musical taste. Specializing in your favorite genre, he has built his career on quality, passion, innovation, and organic fun. ReaL P always aims to deliver something fresh and thought-provoking for his audience.

 

ReaL P's outstanding contributions to the music industry have been recognized by some of the most respected organizations in the city. He was featured on the prestigious Boston Magazine's "150 Most Influential Bostonians" list in 2023. As the Assistant Vice President for Community Relations at Northeastern University, he aims to create opportunities for the surrounding Boston community to organically interface with the University’s resources and develop a stronger ecosystem of trust and calibration.
